Menopause: Bio-identical HRT, Hormone Metabolism & The Role of Estrabalome

Masterclass led by Dr. Ghazala Aziz-Scott

Menopause is inevitable and how it impacts women can vary. With HRT widely prescribed today as not having HRT can lead to osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, stroke, vascular dementia and even Alzheimers in women,

With the controversy in HRT, a new alternative has now emerged: BHRT. Bioidentical (also referred to as body identical) hormones are identical in chemical and molecular structure to those occurring naturally in the human body, as opposed to ‘synthetic’ hormones which are structurally different.

In our latest Masterclass, Women’s health expert and well known functional medicine Doctor Ghazala Aziz-Scott will be discussing BHRT as well as hormone metabolism from oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone to DHEA. She will also be touching upon the role of the estrabolome has to play in menopause.

Dr. Ghazala will be sharing an overview on hormone metabolism as well as deep dive into the mechanism involved in metabolising hormones appropriately. There are specific pathways which explains why some women absorb and tolerate hormones differently.

Dr. Aziz-Scott will also discuss how to support a healthy estrabolome. The estrobolome includes bacteria that produce betaglucuronidase, an enzyme that reverts estrogen back into its unconjugated, active form. Hormonal imbalances can either cause either elevate or reduce betaglucuronidase levels and in both cases we start seeing concerning symptoms.

Join us for an exciting Masterclass with Dr. Ghazala Aziz-Scott on a functional medicine approach to menopause solutions.
