Session 2 of the Gut ID Clinical Education Series builds directly on the foundations established in Session 1, shifting the focus from understanding gut dysfunction to applying microbiome insights in clinical practice. 

Autoimmune and immune-mediated conditions are increasingly recognised as systems-level disorders involving the gut microbiome, immune regulation, and gut–brain signalling. Yet many clinicians struggle with the practical question: How do I translate complex microbiome data into meaningful, individualised interventions? 

In this session, Elena Panzeri guides practitioners through the clinical reasoning required to interpret microbiome findings with confidence — moving beyond “good vs bad” bacteria toward contextual, patient-specific decision-making. 

What This Session Covers 

In Session 2, you’ll explore: 

  • Autoimmune disorders through a gut–brain–immune systems lens 
  • The clinical relevance of neurotransmitters in immune modulation 
  • How to interpret microbiome data in autoimmune presentations 
  • Evidence-informed and clinically appropriate use of probiotics 
  • Parasite and fungal testing — when to investigate and how to interpret findings in context 

This education series is supported by Gut ID, an advanced gut microbiome testing platform combining DNA sequencing with AI-powered analysis to support deeper clinical insight.

The focus of this session is on how and when microbiome data should be used responsibly in clinical practice, helping practitioners build confidence in interpretation and clinical decision-making.

Session 3 – Advanced & Complex Clinical Applications 

1st April 2026, 1:00 – 3:00 pm (UK)

This advanced session will explore:

  • Microbiome patterns in complex and degenerative conditions
  • Neurodegenerative and oncology-related case discussions
  • Red-flag signatures in asymptomatic patients
  • Prevention-focused strategies and the role of the oral microbiome

There will be Q&A sessions incorporated into all 3 parts of the education series.

Elena Panzeri, MSc, BSc

Microbiome and Nutrigenomics Expert

Elena Panzeri holds an MSc (Master of Science) in Nutrition and Genetics a BSc (Bachelor of Science) in Nutritional Therapy along with advanced qualifications in naturopathy and homeopathy.. She has over 25 years of clinical experience in natural medicine and highly personalized nutrition. Her primary expertise lies in Personalized and Functional Medicine Nutrition, including nutrigenetics, epigenetics, microbiome analysis, metabolomics, and advanced functional medicine testing. She is currently investigating the link between gut and oral microbiome and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. In parallel, she consults for Intus Biosciences, contributing to the clinical development of advanced microbiome testing and interpreting hundreds of complex patient profiles worldwide.
